BODY-CENTRED APPROACHES TO THERAPY HAVE the ABILITY TO CUT THROUGH MENTAL TANGLES & GET TO THE ROOT OF WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE MIGHT BECOME.

-Brighton School for embodied therapy

I believe in the creative potential of our bodies to reveal, heal, and transform. My aim is to create a safe therapeutic environment for this to happen, and to accompany you on a journey that supports further growth.

My expertise is in Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) which is based on the premise that thoughts, feelings and the experience of self are expressed through the body and in movement. It applies the elements of dance (body awareness, rhythm, time, space, gesture, posture, dynamics) as a framework for exploration, discovery, learning and change.

So what exactly does that mean?

Whether it is working through a creative block with an artist, building relationship with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, or working on cognitive function with elders experiencing dementia, Dance Movement Therapy has proven effective for diverse populations with varied goals because it targets the autonomic nervous system directly and exercises neural pathways.

often words are not enough.

A session can take many forms as it always begins with ability and aim. While no two sessions are alike, they usually follow a general 5 stage arch of Warm-up, Release, Theme, Centering, and Closure. What takes place in a session will depend on what our aim for that session is and what our overall goals for working together are.

Individual session cost: $120 per hour (see more on my rates & credentials)

Sliding scales are available and can be negotiated for students, seniors, and professional artists starting at $65. For developmental support with children please visit my Rainbowdance work.
